Ixalan-themed Pirate Chest Deck Box

Ixalan-themed Pirate Chest Deck Box

In tribute to Magic: The Gathering's Ixalan block, I created a themed deck box that embodies my passion for pirate booty! Nothing seemed more fitting than an iron-bound treasure chest adorned with dinosaur claws and teeth, giving it a unique flavor. This project is more intricate than my previous Amonkhet-themed box, featuring 21 separate pieces and a complex "lock." Rotate the ship's wheel, which doubles as a life counter, to unlock your deck by pulling out the sword. The deck box should hold up to a 100-card single-sleeved EDH deck. I'll also include a custom spacer to snugly fit a 60-card deck, along with a sideboard. In the future, I plan to replace the sword with a model of the Pirate's Cutlass from the game. Check back in about a week for updates! The prototype shown is made from mixed materials, and I recommend using leather straps or fake leather for items like the flag or claw. If you prefer, you can print the entire flag and "leather straps" using the provided models. Some pieces require supports, but I optimized the design to avoid exposed surfaces with supports touching them. For the hinges, use the rivet method, and 1.75mm filament works well.
