ItsyBitsy Wind Rain Adapter
thingiverse
This is an expansion and adapter for my existing Weather Station project on Thingiverse, available at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2854433. This add-on module adds a tipping bucket (rain gauge), wind speed, and wind direction sensors by tapping into one of the I2C bus lines. The tipping bucket, wind speed, and wind direction sensors can be purchased from SparkFun (https://www.sparkfun.com/products/8942) or Misol on Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/MISOL-outdoor-Professional-Wireless-Weather/dp/B00EJFCM1M/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?keywords=misol+weather+staton&qid=1554001977&s=gateway&sr=8-1-fkmr0). These sensors use an RJ9/11 plug, and the corresponding socket can be purchased from Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01HU7BX42/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1). The Arduino processor used in this project is the AdaFruit ItsyBitsy M0 3v. I have included the Arduino code for the slave I2C sender, which can be easily integrated with the existing Weather Station project. The master receiver code has also been added to the original project. This design was created using Tinkercad and can be edited online at https://www.tinkercad.com/things/c1Szfksfmbm. I would appreciate it if you could let me know if you make one or use this design as a starting point for something else. Your feedback is valuable!
