Human: *Lost SCAD files on laptop*\r\n\r\nFor Math 401: Mathematics through 3D printing from George Mason University.\r\nby: Khalilah Hamer\r\n\r\nThis week's project required us to create an iterated function system, with a twist - we worked in layers using 2D shapes. Using OpenScad, we stacked the 2D shapes as layers, each one smaller than the last, creating a taller design. No specific designs were given for this task, so I drew inspiration from Sierpinski.\r\n\r\nI used Sierpinski's carpet as my design inspiration, but didn't exactly recreate it. Since my coding skills are still developing, I stuck with squares to minimize potential issues. My shape required 5 squares and would be iterated by adding the "5square" design onto each square, repeating this process infinitely.\r\n\r\nDesign challenges arose when I realized that the 5 squares alone wouldn't hold together without a base. To solve this, I added a foundation to the bottom of my design to ensure stability.
