It takes two
myminifactory
Human: This modern abstract sculpture showcases two figures intertwined, forming a heart-like shape with their bodies. The artwork represents unity between males and females as a foundation for fresh beginnings. In recovery from a serious surgery, Bob Allen was encouraged to take up woodcarving to regain strength in his left arm. As he discovered his talent, Allen began creating sculptures inspired by nature, often working outdoors with traditional tools and hand-carved wooden pieces. "It Takes Two" is a bronze cast of an ancient English Yew tree branch that fell centuries ago, listed in the Domesday Book. Allen's goal was to reveal the hidden beauty within the wood, and here it was the female form that initially emerged, later complemented by a male figure.
