Reiterating my thoughts, I find the two-part structure intriguing yet challenging. While adding functional components has slightly compromised its clean lines, redesigning as a single piece could restore that aesthetic appeal. To enhance the locking mechanism, I suggest concealing the clip or moving it to replace the current U-shaped part's locks. Additionally, a sliding mechanism for the U-shaped section may be preferable. Furthermore, I have concerns about the weak points in this design, specifically the 2mm area at the bottom of the NASA fitting. To address this, I reinforced it with side nodules, but I am not entirely convinced that similar 2mm areas elsewhere will hold up as well.
