Isolating Mount for TV Remote Control IR Blaster
thingiverse
At our office, multiple TVs are placed in public areas and connected to a group of cable boxes. We utilize StarTech HDMI Extenders via two Cat 5 Ethernet cables, enabling video transmission up to 30 meters and IR blaster control signals back to the box. One challenge arises when numerous cable boxes are housed in a confined space. Creative use of cardboard and tape is often necessary to prevent one IR blaster from changing channels on the wrong box. Introducing the Isolating IR Blaster Mount, an ingenious solution designed for crowded environments. It comes in two versions: one that simply holds and directs the IR blaster output, perfect for those who prefer using the double-sided tape provided; and another with an additional tab for easy attachment, requiring only a strip of scotch tape. The mount's design incorporates a small hole at its base, making it simple to remove the IR blaster if needed. Experience the convenience of controlling cable channels from a distant room! To use, simply print the template, insert the IR blaster, attach it to the cable box, and enjoy hands-free channel control.
