Isocrates (436–338 BC), a renowned ancient Greek orator, ranked among the top ten Attic speakers of his time. As one of the most influential Greek rhetoricians in history, Isocrates made significant contributions to rhetoric and education through his teaching and written works.\r\nAncient Greek rhetoric originated with Corax of Syracuse, who established a set of rhetorical rules in the fifth century BCE. His student Tisias played a crucial role in developing courtroom rhetoric, and some accounts even suggest he was Isocrates' teacher. Within just two generations, rhetoric had become an essential skill, driven by societal changes like democracy and court systems.\r\nThis object is part of "Scan The World".
