The limestone statue was initially carved to depict Goddess Isis cradling her son Horus in her arms. Following its discovery and likely due to its deteriorated condition, it was reimagined as Mother Mary tenderly holding baby Jesus. Unfortunately, very little remains of the original sculpture.
