Human: Statue of Isis crafted from marble likely originating from Lakonia, a region in southeastern Peloponnese.\r\nThe goddess wears a veil and diadem on her head along with a chiton and a fringed himation tied in the distinctive Isis knot.\r\nIsis was a powerful deity in ancient Egyptian religion whose worship spread throughout Greco-Roman world. Her interactions with humans were based on her behavior in myth. She helped guide the dead into afterlife just as she had helped Osiris, she was considered the divine mother of pharaoh, who was likened to Horus, and her maternal aid was invoked in healing spells.\r\n \r\nThis object is part of "Scan The World".
