Isaac, the protagonist of The Binding of Isaac, is a baby whose mother plans to sacrifice him to appease God's favor. In response, he flees down into the basement of their house and uses his tears to defeat monsters, equips himself with items, and forms pacts with both the Devil and God to aid him.
