A Christmas cracker that contains all the parts to make a Christmas tree and just for good measure a couple of fancy party hats.

Print instructions

All the parts were drawn in onShape and printed on a Prusa Mk3 and sliced with the PrusaSlicer.
All except the star were printed in PLA at 0.2 layer height .
The star was printed in transparent PET-G in vase mode at 0.2 layer height.
The ribbon was sliced for the dual height colour change.

There are 10 sizes of branches and you can fit up to 8 of each into the cracker. The build is done on a drinking straw or metal tube (the full height is 500mm so the tube will not fit in the cracker). The picture shows a shorter tree where the drinking straws were enclosed in the cracker. You can ring changes on how many of each brach you use and whether they are all the same size in sequence - it is up to the builder.

The star was built in vase mode and a small section removed for the cable to the twinkling LED, this is wired back to the battery in the base holder.

You can see in one photo, that the snap for the cracker is whipped round the end of the main body and is trapped under the cuff (that will be a snazzy hat)

Feel free to play with it - it is all just a bit of Christmas fun.
Last year's model graced the table on Christmas day on board a cruise line!

If you are into Gummy Bears whilst building - stuff stock up well if building the tall version!
