Ironing test square
thingiverse
Hi. This is literally a 5cmx5cmx3.2mm (half height version available) square for testing and optimising your ironing settings! If you've never tried ironing before, this is a perfect way to see what it's like. It will use all of 6-9g of filament. You will need to set the ironing settings yourself. I use Cura. -Start with a print using Cura default ironing settings, see how happy you are with it (pretty sure it defaults to 10mm/s 0.1mm width 10%flow) -Try a 100mm/s speed ironing test with the ironing width equal to your nozzle width, and flow at 20-25% (by this i mean set ironing speed to 100, not print speed) -Decide which one of the two you are happier with, and that will sort of tell you if ironing works best fast or slow for your machine. -Once happy with the speed, tinker with your ironing width (up to 100% of nozzle width) and flow Good luck!
