Ironing Board Shim Gasket Washer
thingiverse
Human: Quit smashing your iron with a wonky ironing board! Ironing boards always go haywire. Cheap ones (and some that aren't so cheap) wobble because of play in the leg joint. Construct this shim gasket washer thing and snap it in place to firm up the pivot point. Construct the gasket for a few cents of ABS and avoid replacing your iron entirely! Instructions Print 2 or more pieces. Snap them in place. The design is meant for 1-inch tubing, with a center hole that's 0.25 inches across. Build notes: I printed in ABS at 25% fill on an XYZ Da Vinci printer (with the fixes I always apply). I made g-code from Cura and then converted to .3w format before printing. Normally, I print two or more small items like this at once to prevent melting issues - some slicers will take care of heat problems. In retrospect, maybe I should've printed a white or gray washer... In the photo, it shows up bright green, though.
