Ironing Board Organiser
prusaprinters
Every body hates laundry, I especially hate ironing….to make matters worse everything I need to get the job done wants to roll away or hide down the back of the couch; so I set about ironing out some of those creases.I couldn't find a simple organiser anywhere, I needed something I could clamp onto the ironing board and be able to hold all those sprays, rollers, lints removers etc. The design includes a dovetail attachment for easy “place and remove”, for when the ironing's done and away goes the boardThe organiser doesn't just have to be used for the dreaded ironing board, the throat of the clamp is currently 30mm which is enough to mount to most office desks or counters….the possibilities are endless so feel free to remix I've used a Wham Studio 5.02 container but obviously others are available, However you may need to adjust the angle for the back plate for different containers, you could add the dovetails and back plates to various containers and just drop them in or swap them out depending on the job at hand.Hardware required:1x Container sized accordingly (pictured 35 x 26 x 15cm)6x M4*86x M4*5*6 Threaded heat set inserts Print SettingsI recommend using filaments with higher melting temperatures like PETG, ABS or ASA, I used Kexcelled K5 ABS GREY. Slower printing speeds helped with the accuracy of parts20% infill4 perimeters4 Top & bottom layersInstructions:Print all the parts requiredTape the drill guide to your chosen container, keep it central to avoid causing uneven loads Drill the four holes into the container, its recommended you use a step drill as normal drill bit can split the plastic, to avoid this try going slower than normalInsert the 6 threaded heat set inserts using a soldering iron, ensure they sit flush or just below the surfaceUsing 4x M4 bolts attach the base plate to the containerUsing the final 2x M4 bolts attach the dovetail to the baseplate, please note this can be directly mounted to the container rather than using the baseplate.Mount the clamp using the 2x printed screws insert the dovetail into the slot and add anything you need to make your ironing easier DISCLAIMER. Hot irons and plastic don't go well, it tends to melt and destroy, I'm not responsible for your actions when using this organiser, I strongly suggest you don't use the organiser to store the iron whilst hot!
