Iron mouth harp

Iron mouth harp

myminifactory

This ancient iron jaw harp was carefully unearthed at James Madison's historic estate in Montpelier through archaeological excavation. The jaw harp itself is a unique musical instrument that produces sound when the player places its frame against their teeth or lips and plucks a missing reed, typically made of metal, in this remarkably preserved specimen. Thanks to the generosity of James Madison's Montpelier for allowing us to view this incredible artifact.
