IRON MAN ARC REACTOR [UNDER SHIRT]
thingiverse
I designed a 3D-printed housing that perfectly accommodates the reactor lens, LED rings, and Arduino Pro Mini, which I utilized to control them seamlessly. To ensure smooth programming, I meticulously attached the communication pins for my UART 2 USB board individually, allowing easy removal once I completed the coding process. As a result, everything fits snugly together. Originally, the instructions specified 1/8-inch laser-cut acrylic from Panoxo, but I opted for 1/4-inch thick matte-finish material instead to achieve an even more impressive finish. To create contrast and add visual interest, I left one of the panels untouched while sanding and painting the second to remove any paper residue and refine its texture. The layered effect provides a striking surface finish with considerable depth. Using SolidWorks, I generated both STL and SLDPR files for the 3D-printed housing. Its friction-fit design eliminates the need for screws or adhesive, ensuring effortless assembly and disassembly. A cleverly designed slot at the back allows for effortless maintenance, simply requiring a gentle push from your thumb to open it up.
