Iron Man Arc Reactor Mark I (Remixed)
thingiverse
It all started with Tony Stark's Arc Reactor in 2014 by Skimbal. Since I was new to 3D Printing at that time, I simply created it and placed it on my desk. You can view the original model here: https://www.thingiverse.com/make:538233. Two years later in 2019, I decided to give my Arc Reactor a makeover with "Pimp My Reactor." To start, I disassembled the reactor, removed some of the existing printed parts, and replaced them with modified designs. Next, I added a lot more LEDs and gave the entire project a fresh coat of paint. Finally, I designed a new stand to display my Arc Reactor in a style reminiscent of the movie. Here's a list of the parts used: * Most of the original Reactor parts by Skimbal * Redesigned Preview_Support_Cage_2019.stl (features a large hole on the backside) * Redesigned Main_Crystal_PLA_2019_*.stl (split in half for supportless printing and a big hole at the backside) * Backside cap designed by drandolph * Designed a bevel using an SVG text file from tomohulk * Created a stand for a 10mm rod (the stainless steel rod shown is 110mm long) If you want to adjust the rod diameter or display angle, simply open the included OpenSCAD script and modify the variables. You can then export the modified design as an STL file by hitting F6.
