Iron Fist Karate Trainer
thingiverse
A fellow martial artist approached me with a request to create handgrips that would securely hold boards for her Karate training sessions. These custom grips slide seamlessly onto the edge of a standard 1" board, which, incidentally, measures only 3/4" (19mm) in thickness across the US. The primary purpose of these handgrips is to prevent students from inadvertently punching their instructor's hands while attempting to break the board, thereby avoiding any potential harm or injury. Over time, I've made significant changes to these designs, as evidenced by the version numbers. I've invested considerable time and effort into designing and refining these prints to meet the needs of users. Initially, my original design wasn't entirely satisfactory, but fortunately, @Modellaner's handle was brought to my attention on Thingiverse, and it perfectly complemented the board holders. Moreover, Modellaner's design underwent several modifications in terms of size and shape, for which I am truly grateful. Version 4.1 is specifically designed for smaller to medium-sized hands, while Version 4.2 caters to larger hands. It's essential to note that users should refrain from adjusting the scale during printing, as this could result in the board not fitting securely into the grip's opening.
