Iris+ tall Legs (no supports!)
myminifactory
New printable leg design for the IRIS standard draws inspiration from the innovative IRIS+ legs, boasting a vertical orientation instead of diverging, yielding improved aerodynamics for 'floating' capabilities. Eight millimeter carbon rods can be inserted through strategically placed holes, with a suggested length of 160 millimeters. By removing these rods, users can seamlessly swap them out for the smaller legs, negating the need for switching between designs and eliminating potential trolling. This new leg design is printed without supports, and an added notch securely holds the carbon rods in place. In comparison to the original IRIS tall legs, which weighed 35 grams each, the new tall legs boast a significantly reduced weight of just 14.5 grams per unit (a savings of 80 grams), resulting in a bird that lands approximately 30 millimeters taller.
