IRIS+ long legs

IRIS+ long legs

thingiverse

These are top and bottom parts specifically designed for custom length legs on the 3DR IRIS+. You can choose any length of 6 mm diameter aluminum, carbon fiber, or wood rod as the leg itself and attach these top and bottom parts. Use epoxy (or some other glue) on both ends of the rods to secure them in place - my aluminum rods are simply pressed into the parts and fit tightly. An M3 threaded insert like this one from McMaster-Carr is used for holding the locking screw, but you can omit it if the fit is snug enough or add a piece of tape to make it tight enough. Depending on your 3D printer's tolerances, you might need to drill out the 6 mm hole and possibly the 4 mm hole for the threaded insert. With the aluminum tubes I'm using in the picture, each leg weighs about 1.5 grams more than the stock long legs.
