Iris Door Box v4
thingiverse
This is a reworked version of Countspatula's Iris Door Box, entirely redesigned from scratch. The design was created using FreeCAD, where every aspect can be customized to your liking. A comprehensive manual within the FreeCAD file provides detailed explanations on how to adjust each parameter. Several key features were modified: The ring and base are now interchangeable in terms of function. The leaves consist of two separate parts - a top and bottom section - carefully positioned at an offset, allowing them to support one another securely. Strategically placed cut-outs within the leaves prevent them from locking into place, ensuring smooth operation between open and closed positions. Notably, the visible screws have been concealed with the previously posted screw caps. My Design Process FreeCAD software was running on a Linux computer, fueled by an abundance of coffee, as I worked tirelessly to bring this innovative design to life.
