The Fal River oyster boat 'Irene' at National Maritime Museum Cornwall is captured in stunning detail through a point cloud display. This visual representation allows viewers to effortlessly explore confined spaces and provides an unparalleled glimpse into the vessel's construction for those fascinated by boat building. The original point cloud contains hundreds of millions of measurement points, meticulously derived from a thorough photogrammetric survey. However, the cloud does exhibit some gaps, particularly in areas coated with black and blue gloss paint, which unfortunately resist photogrammetry well. 'Irene' was surveyed within the main gallery of the museum during regular operating hours, presenting its own unique set of challenges.
