Ireland Potato Famine

Ireland Potato Famine

I designed this 3D chart to depict the severity of the Potato Famine in certain areas of Ireland, which I created for school as a visual aid to show everyone. The end result was good and the design is easy to print. Those pillars on the side should display the percentages of people taking up rations during that time, arranged from shortest to tallest: 5%, 15%, 30%, 40%, 60%, and 100%. I appreciate Thingiverse for providing better prizes. I obtained this information from Wesleyjohnston.com. Print Settings: Rafts: Yes Supports: No Post-Printing: Designing This Model: First, I found a picture to base my model on, which can be found in the summary. In SolidWorks, I imported that picture and traced over its boundaries. Then, I extruded each region to the proper height. Standards: NGSS CCSS Overview and Background: This is a geographical map of Ireland showing the severity of the potato famine. It's perfect for hands-on learners!
