Laserscanning and photogrammetry are being used to map a salt diapir in the Bushehr desert, south Iran, where a salt cave was explored and mapped in 3D in February 2019 as part of a research project led by La Venta, an Italian association, in collaboration with the Iranian Association of Speleology and the University of Shiraz.
