IR LED Raspberry Pi Camera Mount

IR LED Raspberry Pi Camera Mount

thingiverse

This is a versatile mount that securely holds a Raspberry Pi camera module, along with three 5mm LEDs and a transistor that enables easy switching on and off. My version effectively powers three IR LEDs using the 5v from the Raspberry Pi (A picture shows the illuminated print bed). You can use alternative LEDs, such as white ones running off 3.3v, but you'll likely need something brighter than just three of them. The included pack features a simple ball joint with a flat female part that snaps onto a 20mm ball (also included). Additionally, there are some 10mm spacers provided for use if your hardware is not short enough; simply scale them to the desired length. This mount accommodates either 3mm or 4mm hardware, allowing you to print whichever size suits your needs. To ensure a snug fit, you'll need to trim the sockets slightly to accommodate the 5mm LEDs. The transistor may also benefit from being super glued in place while you connect all the wires.
