IR LED / IR Photodiode Holder
thingiverse
This is an adjustable bracket designed to securely hold a standard 5mm IR LED and its paired IR photodiode, thereby creating a sensor assembly for a reflective optical tachometer. To create the full tachometer, follow this Instructable: https://www.instructables.com/id/Add-an-Arduino-based-Optical-Tachometer-to-a-CNC-R/ The bracket's LED holes are specifically designed to accommodate a standard 5mm IR LED/photodiode setup. The LED holders feature a 1.75mm hole in the back, allowing for the insertion of a piece of filament to lock the LEDs firmly into place. The holder was initially designed to mount on a Sienci Mill CNC Router, and it utilizes the corner bracket mount for this purpose. However, I have also included a flat mount that can be used if needed for other applications. For further insight into how the Optical Tachometer works using the IR LED/IR Photodiode holder, refer to this video snippet: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v_ozoLcYnxE
