I designed this attachment to fit snugly onto my iPod Touch, holding a magnifying glass in place so I could examine and capture images of objects much closer and smaller than usual. I acquired a 13.7mm diameter x 12mm focal length double-convex lens from Edmund Optics, catalog number 76770. If you obtain a different lens, you can modify the openSCAD file by adjusting the objectivediameter and objectivethickness to match your chosen lens's specifications. This attachment is printed in three separate pieces. First, I set phase equal to 0 to print the bracket that secures onto the phone. Next, I set phase equal to 1 to print the lens mount, followed by setting phase equal to 2 to print the lens retainer. After acquiring the individual pieces, I glued the lens mount to the bracket, with E6000 adhesive proving effective for this purpose. Once the adhesive is dry, I insert the lens and snap the retainer into place to hold it securely. To prevent the lens from falling out, I apply a tiny drop of glue to secure the retainer in position.
