iPod Camera Holder

This is an iPod holder designed for taking hands-free pictures, with one attached to a salvaged rod from an old printer with a diameter of 7mm. The adjustable swivel uses a machine screw and wing nut, allowing users to attach their iPod touch in several generations, including the sixth generation and fifth generation, although I have not tested it on a fourth-gen iPod, but I believe it should fit due to its design. The holder may be too thin to accommodate an iPhone, though. The rod is supported by a clamp attached to a table via the camera assembly. To enhance user's creativity, I have included the 123D design file with a 6th Gen iPod template for easy editing and modification. Users are encouraged to test this holder on various types of iPods. Print Settings Brand: Printrbot Printer Type: Simple Black Raft Type: No Support Type: No Resolution:.3mm Infill:20% Post-Printing Notes The dove tail joint in the swivel assembly was incredibly tight, so no glue was necessary. However, I had to file the top of both sides slightly to enable smooth movement between them. I adjusted the pivot to slide flush with the bracket's edge and also made sure not to hit the wing nut. Users should ensure the rod slides from the bottom onto the iPod rather than sliding off from above to avoid hitting camera lens or side buttons. How This Was Made To measure the exact dimensions of an iPod, I utilized a caliper micrometer and built the model based on those measurements. From this model, I carefully crafted the bracket's profile while keeping the overall shape of an iPod in mind. The model was scaled slightly larger so that an iPod would comfortably fit through it yet firmly secure when placed inside. Due to several 10-layer test iterations adjusting scaling until it reached optimal results. For production and usability, the holder was designed in three separate pieces which offers additional structural strength while minimizing the necessity of using support materials.
