iPod 4 Touch Cases
thingiverse
I initially used iPod cases from online resources but they didn't fit my son's iPod. For better fitting, I suggest using patterns available at thingiverse.com/thing:33359 and thingiverse.com/thing:22568. However, the OpenSCAD for this design is quite messy and hasn't been uploaded. The logo can be created by scanning it with a flatbed scanner and editing it with Inkscape to obtain DXF files for use in OpenSCAD. Recently, I added test STLs for quick print and fit checks to avoid wasting time and resources on ill-fitting designs. Remember to replace "nnn" with the thickness of your lines (150 equals 1.50mm) when using gCase and gSpots files together. Measure the outer width close to the corners of test_edges.stl or test_corners.stl, which averages at 62.7mm, and use this for scaling if needed. Test_cap.stl fits slightly tight on top and loose at the bottom, while test_side.stl is just a little loose with no noticeable play. Happy printing!
