Ipi quadcopter - racing drone - 250 type
thingiverse
This is my version of a beginner-friendly racing drone that can withstand the inevitable crashes that newcomers face all the time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xnum6L-rfKQ&feature=youtu.be Features: CDG is kept to a minimum by placing GoPro and batteries in the middle plate, which also protects the battery during crashes. Arms are designed to minimize motor breakage risk by including weak points that break away when impacted heavily. If hit hard, the arm should break at its weakest point, usually near the esc cable connections, freeing the motor from excessive stress. One of my previous designs broke due to this issue, so I've since added two clamps per arm to hold cables in place, reducing the likelihood of connector damage during crashes. Shock-absorbing landing gears also contribute to a smoother ride. FPV camera is mounted at 10 degrees downward for an unobstructed view of the surrounding area. The Emax 2204 motors (2300KV), Emax 10A ESCs, GensAce 1300 mAh 25C power battery, Tiger 480 mAh 25C FPV battery, CC3D OpenPilot flight control board, stock power distribution board, 700TVL stock camera, GoPro Hero 3 Black+, and 5030 propellers are all high-quality components that enhance overall performance. A Boscham 600mW video transmitter handles transmission duties. Tutorials The following resources provide helpful guidance for newcomers to the hobby: General quadcopter tutorials by Painless360 are highly recommended (https://www.youtube.com/user/Painless360). For those who want a deeper understanding, I suggest the PID explanation at rcgroups (http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showpost.php?p=25977521&postcount=5). Basic and in-depth PID tuning for hold-altitude mode is also available on Dropbox (https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/80566205/not%20remove/tutorials/PID%20Alt%20Hold.html).
