I used only the cable path and connector holes from the iPhone X dock, but I completely redesigned the stand with speaker holes on both the front and back. The sound waves are mainly redirected through the front holes. The second dock is specifically designed for the iPhone X, even when it's fitted with a thin 1mm silicone case.
