iPhone tripod mount with quick release
thingiverse
To improve my disappointing videos taken at Maker Faire of Arc Attack, I decided to create a custom tripod mount for my phone. Since I needed it to be easily detachable, I built a quick-release mechanism myself using materials like M3 x 50 mm screw, M3 x 95 mm threaded rod, M3 nuts, 1/4-20 threaded insert, washers, and 6mm flat material. After laser cutting the parts and assembling them with wood glue, I followed these steps: inserted a 1/4-20 threaded insert into the base, used the 95 mm threaded rod as a hinge pin between two parts with washers and nuts, added an M3 x 50 screw vertically with a compression spring and washers for tension adjustment, and finally secured the nuts with CA glue. Despite my improved video mount, the actual video quality was still subpar.
