I remade an iPhone tripod adapter from scratch. To make printing easier, I removed the printed hooks for rubber bands and instead used 1/2in cup hooks that were threaded into the print using superglue on the threads. The top and bottom parts of the print have a circle to show where to attach it and build up some plastic to tap into. Before screwing in the small hooks, I drilled a small pilot hole. As with the original, pick up a 1/4x20 nut when you get the hooks (total cost for everything from Lowe's was less than $1.50) and glue it into place. I used two rubber bands doubled over three times (may vary depending on rubber band length), connected them using a hook pick, and twisted them to achieve desired tension. This adapter is designed for an iPhone 6S with a case on it, but would work for slightly larger phones as well. The total distance between jaws when fully closed is 72.5mm, with an additional 18mm extension (approximate) usable increase when the jaws are extended.
