I liked the design of iPhone Charging Dock by OgreMills, but I wanted the charger cover to fit snugly over the actual charger without extending beyond it. To achieve this, I edited the STL file in 3D Builder (Windows 10) with precision and care. My print had a slight imperfection on the left side of the charging cover, possibly due to a quirk in my printer or this specific print. Luckily, it's easily fixable with a bit of sanding, so I decided not to reprint it. I'm not sure if the issue lies within the STL file or just the print itself, but it might be worth investigating further. If I were to redesign iPhone Charging Dock again, I would probably add a small clip to hold the charging cable in place and some flat edges along the sides and bottom of the hole that holds the charger. The charger itself isn't strong enough to support the weight if the electrical sockets are loose, so I'd make sure to address this issue. Alternatively, I might skip the charger holder altogether and create an Electrical Wall Plate with a Phone Holder on top. I apologize for the poor lighting in the Cover Photo - it's definitely time for me to invest in some high-quality under cabinet lighting! Print Settings: Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer: MakerBot Replicator 2 Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: Low (with Minimal Supports) Infill: 15% Notes: 0.30mm, 15% infill, 3 shells, with Support, True White, 1h 42m Post-Printing: I did some minor sanding where the support structures were to ensure a smooth finish. Design Process: I imported the original STL into 3D Builder (Windows 10) and used a Cube to subtract the section of the model I didn't want. Then, I rebuilt and repaired the model before exporting it as an STL file.
