In search of more risk, I switched from the iPhone Mixer Attachment to this intriguing accessory. Many advocate glass as a robust build platform, making it an ideal application for an iPhone 4. This iPhone holder is designed to replace the heated build platform on a MakerBot Thing-o-Matic; its sections fit together via dovetails, providing stability once your phone is in place. It accommodates both face-up and face-down positioning. Note that it lacks heating functionality, so PLA printing may be more suitable. This creative iPhone accessory was crafted for the Absurd contest organized by EngineerVsDesigner (EvD) and Makerbot Industries. The OpenSCAD file is parameterized and relies on sorup's iPhone 4 model (thing 12879) for specific measurements, as well as jag's dovetail module (thing 10269). A few photos are available on flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/bradandkathy/sets/72157629259233290/. For assembly, print the four sections and fasten them with M3x20 screws and nuts. Ensure proper leveling before you start printing!
