iPhone 7 Case with Bumpers
thingiverse
I designed this iPhone 7 case because I didn't want to spend $50 on a similar design. To hold it with one hand and prevent drops, I added hand grips. The case fits the phone tightly and stays securely in place during all of my drop tests. It took around seven iterations before I got the fit just right and made it comfortable to hold. Now, makers can have an iPhone 7 case for $1-$2, which makes me love my 3D printer even more! I hope you guys enjoy this design and if you feel generous, consider adding a tip! In the future, I'll create alternative case designs with different grips like hearts or circles, so be sure to check back on this model periodically. Print Settings: Printer: Da Vinci Jr 1.0 Rafts: No Supports: Yes Infill: 30% Notes: To achieve a good balance of strength and weight, I print the case at 0.1 mm layer height with 30% infill. The Thick setting for shells adds extra strength. I printed the cases in white to make it easy for an artist friend to add designs to the back. If you prefer a darker color, it will show less wear over time. You can also paint them if desired. Post-Printing: A little light sanding on the outside and support removal from both sides is all that's needed. I also lightly sand the inside to make it smooth against the phone and prevent scratches.
