iPhone 7 Case - Flip Folio
thingiverse
Finally upgraded to an iPhone 7 - long story short, my previous phone (iPhone 6) dropped and cracked the screen on day 1 - while fitting it into a simple snap style 3d printed case. I wanted to make sure that this new 7 had a very sturdy case to fully protect it throughout it's lifespan. Decided to use an existing snap case from Tomasf (which I printed to make sure of fit) as the base model. His original design is here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1838906/ I've added bulk to the base file, and created a top cover plate, and added a hinge so that it works as a Folio, but in the 'flip' style, like an old school Star Trek communicator. The top of the folio, when flipped back, works as a stand in both portrait and landscape mode, however in portrait mode it's a bit slippery on smooth surfaces, unless the screw you use in the hinge is really tight. I also added some small magnets to keep the folio closed when shut, without the need for an external locking mechanism. I printed at 100% Infill with Support (Lines at 20%) - support is only for hinges, if you put the flat part down you should be good to go. Enjoy, and much love!
