I built a custom cell holder for my mom's phone that fits snugly into the gear shifter, keeping it out of the way while driving. It works like a charm! Be aware that installing this holder will render the gear shifter inaccessible until it's removed. For longer road trips, I use this innovative holder to keep her phone within easy reach. To ensure flexibility in the clips, the base was printed at 20% infill density. The post was printed at 50% density and then carefully trimmed with a Dremel tool once its optimal height was determined.
