Similar to: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:189170 This file has been adapted specifically for the iPhone 6. The original iPhone 5 version can be seen in the photo accompanying this adaptation. This one-piece plastic component requires no assembly whatsoever, as it is fully self-supporting. With its clever design, the adapter enables users to seamlessly capture still images, video, or FaceTime content from beneath their microscope using only their iPhone 6. Zoom and focus capabilities are, of course, provided directly by the microscope itself. One notable feature of this innovative adapter is its exceptional flexibility, allowing it to accommodate eyepieces with varying diameters that fall within a range of 30mm ± 2mm. Although this component was originally designed using ABS plastic, users may find that printing it in PLA results in an noticeably stiffer appearance where the eye piece tends to flex. Feel free to enjoy the fruits of Greg's creative labor! Instructions This file has undergone rigorous testing on a Makerbot Replicator 2X. During this testing process, optimal settings were identified as follows: creating a raft with a 300 micron layer setting, heating the build plate to 110C, and disabling support for an exceptionally smooth finish. The printer was positioned vertically on its flat base at a density of 5%, resulting in a total print time of approximately one and a half hours. Users may wish to note that Greg's extruder has a tendency to produce slightly oversized prints, necessitating larger undercuts to account for the slight undersizing (0.3mm) observed during printing. After the print is complete, simply peel off the raft to access your finished adapter – it's as easy as that! Wishing users the best of luck with their printing endeavors!
