iPhone 5s (as a camera) mount for Thinker S/SE
thingiverse
Your old iPhone is begging for a purpose beyond being a mere paperweight. I scoured the many webcam options supported by octoprint, but none impressed me with their price-performance ratio - that's when it hit me: why not repurpose my trusty iPhone's exceptional camera? And so, this design was born... if you own an iPhone 5, 5S, 5C or SE, they'll all fit neatly into place. I'm running the fantastic free app "ip camera lite," which exposes a web-based video server that can be seamlessly integrated into octoprint - image quality is outstanding and it comes with its own built-in UPS! This brilliant hack mounts onto the X-axis tensioner bolts; you'll need to swap them out for longer ones (M4, originally 25mm long) with an extra 5mm added on (so 2 M4x30mm screws). The bracket attaches to the phone mount using two M5x15mm (or slightly longer) screws and M5 nuts...I hope you find this DIY project useful.
