Iphone 5 inspired Xs max bumper case

I was really enthusiastic about some rumors before the release of the phone that it would feature stainless steel housing like older iPhones so I decided to give this design a try. I attempted 3D printing this design but the wall of the bumper was too thin and would be easily bent out of shape. The goal was to create a slim bumper case that, with a screen protector, would provide a seamless fit. However, even at its current dimensions, the phone with the bumper installed is quite bulky and not as portable-friendly. I'd love to create a similar case for iPhone X or XS to see if the form factor is more user-friendly, but unfortunately, I don't have those phones on hand right now. If you attempt to do a similar project for smaller iPhones, I'd really appreciate it if you could share your results with me.
