iPhone 5 case - Cello
thingiverse
I wanted a cello to be intricately designed on my iPhone case. I downloaded the STEP file from GrabCAD's extensive library at https://grabcad.com/library/basic-iphone-5-5s-case-design-1. A more suitable alternative would have been to use this iPhone case (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:36903), but for some unknown reason, the STEP model refused to appear in 123D Design. The cello sketch from http://www.123dapp.com/123D_Design/Cello/4322696 was simply extruded downward into the case to create a subtractive effect. As someone still relatively inexperienced in 3D modeling, I would like to extend my gratitude to those above for designing and sharing their work. The iPhone case was printed on a Prusa i3 MK2 at an optimal layer thickness of 0.2mm using PLA material. This design could also be easily adapted to resemble a violin or viola.
