I took issue with several aspects of this design so I revised it significantly. Firstly, I wanted to position the phone in the middle of the handlebars rather than one side. To accomplish this, I modified the original design by rotating the mounting section 90 degrees and extending it slightly to accommodate its new location. The original single-piece design appears appealing at first glance but yields a printed product that relies heavily on plastic supports. In contrast, my revised two-part version minimizes support usage. I opted for threaded inserts instead of nuts to secure the parts together, as the latter can easily fall off, whereas inserts provide a more reliable attachment method. These inserts are readily available from McMaster (http://www.mcmaster.com/#99362a600/=s9e8hv) and I used a standard 10-32 flat head screw for the remaining components. I also smoothed out most of the sharp edges, a modification I frequently make to ensure user comfort when handling objects.
