iPad Mini Speaker dock
pinshape
I sought to elevate my iPad Mini's experience by augmenting its notoriously muted speaker's sound output. This dock features a slot measuring 13mm x 140, perfectly accommodating an iPad mini with case in place. Additionally, it can accept a standard lightning cable when in use, allowing the iPad to continue charging while docked on the stand. There are minimal overhangs and bridges needed to print this dock, so I recommend employing supports for a successful printing process. Using Cura, I set the overhang threshold at 74°. At this setting, Cura inserts just two columns of support within the acoustic void, while providing adequate support elsewhere. Most supported surfaces will be hidden from view, so if they turn out poorly, these imperfections won't be glaringly apparent. Given that this dock essentially boasts a monocoque design, you can set the infill to 0% and the print will still maintain its structural integrity, being fairly rigid in all areas it necessitates. Best of luck!
