iPad mini Holder v02 with Extendable Arm and Speaker Holder
thingiverse
This is a derivative of the V01. The actual Tablet Holder has undergone minimal changes. In fact, the Holder Top remains exactly the same and only one small yet useful adjustment was made to the bottom Base part: slots for tiny cable ties were created in the back of the arc so that the USB cable may be tied to it. Thus they are not visible hanging behind the honeycomb pattern when the tablet is not in place. Besides the tablet holder, there are two more files/objects available now: an arm swivel with a slot to hold JBL Flip 5 speaker and screw holes blinds (caps). The silver gray version goes nicely with the arm's silver tint and metallic silver filament used for printing it. Assuming the swivel is mounted to a wall, the speaker holder is not designed to hold the speaker tight. Yet it sits in place nicely and can be easily taken out. There is space for charging cable to be plugged in and the central hole provides access to the on/off button and bluetooth pairing button from behind the speaker without needing to take the speaker out from its bed. Speaker is deliberately hanging low and a bit to the front so it's visible, and also its other keys (like volume up and down) atop its body are easily accessible beneath the tablet. Finally, I've added screw holes blinds (caps). The holes themselves are in exactly the same pattern as the flexible arm's original foot (swivel), so they're interchangeable. I haven't tested the blinds yet as now I have an intention to build v3 of the thing where there will be a space for a small charger with two USB ports inside the body of the swivel. Lucky me - there is power cable in the wall where the swivel is mounted, so in the end, I hope to have a design that appears "cable free" even though both the tablet and the speaker will be powered. Three slots to organize cables with cable ties are also provided on the back of the Swivel besides the ones on the Holder base arc. Obviously once the blinds are plugged in, it will be very difficult to get them out again and unscrew the swivel from the wall. Not impossible (I'll probably drill them out carefully not to damage the swivel body so it's reused and only the blinds need to be printed again) but anyhow I'll install the blinds only when I'm done with modifications and improvements. For other instructions and description, please refer to V01 iPad mini holder with extendable arm. This V02 derivative only adds the Swivel and cable tie slots to the original design - so everything written there stays valid.
