Ipad Bed Holder?

Ipad Bed Holder?

thingiverse

I was so eager to share this project that I just had to get it out there. Honestly, I'm too lazy to hold my iPad in my hands while watching videos in bed and that's why I came up with this holder. It's secured to the wall by a piece of duct tape and a string hooked to a clip which I nailed into the wall above. I printed it in 4 parts and hot-glued them together. Just remember, glue works best when used under shear stress, not tension - otherwise it'll fall apart pretty quickly. To make the duct-taped legs, you need to wrap duct tape around each leg with a good amount sticking out to create a flat "fin" made of duct tape. Then you just have to tape that fin to the wall and you've got a flexible joint to pivot around (it's literally the cheapest and best joint I've ever created). I tied 2 knots in the string so you can use it in either the upwards storage position or the downwards viewing position. Just be careful - depending on your knowledge of adhesives and mechanical failure, this thing could come crashing down on your face. But if it's built right, it should be strong enough to hold 5 times the weight of an iPad (I even tested it with a picture of an iPad and a heavy hammer hanging there for 24 hours). Please help me come up with a name for this thing - comment below with your choice! I've been calling it "The Faceshield" because it stopped me from dropping my iPad on my face. Good luck, and definitely post your makes if you decide to print one.
