IP Camera holder for Makerbot 2 / 2X
thingiverse
An IP Camera is a Great Way to Keep an Eye on Your Printer This design features a detachable "holster" for a D-LINK DCS932 (or other camera in the same packaging) and provides easy access for attaching it to a mounting bracket made for Makerbot 2 / 2x series printers. Instructions The creation of this project is made possible using Matter & Form's "Photon Scanner". The IP cam body shape was scanned quickly, which gave a smooth form to create the holster. As an insider tip, I sprayed hairspray onto the glossy surface so it can be scanned easily, and it came off easily with a damp cloth. The actual holster was created by adding offset shapes from a couple sections of the mesh scanned. The holder has three separate parts to make printing easier, with each section easily detached. One of these sections forms the bracket that sits on top of the printer using two press-fit (glue if needed) dovetail joints and attaching itself using the six-millimeter dia and 2mm thick magnets mentioned before used in this design as well as previous projects for holding together multiple parts. These same powerful yet thin magnets keep the camera's holster securely attached to its designated space while being simple enough to detach very quickly, too! Incorporated within are several photographs taken of actual objects in different formats, plus CAD renders - these include (in particular) an image of a completed assembly that captures everything shown up until this point. And don't forget: the attached YouTube video is now linked directly into the original content which will have its embedded details for better clarification on viewing and following how well-made the entire solution ended up after successful 3D modeling; the viewer gets additional information through various ways. As well as an impressive picture of how well a real-world use example functions: what your end goal can be. You now find yourself provided with this ready-to-use template to edit however fits according perfectly - that is easily possible within various formats used throughout different programs for better understanding ease
