IOT123 - ASSIMILATE SENSOR HUB: ICOS10 GENERIC SHELL (IDC)
thingiverse
Several ASSIMILATE SENSOR HUBS are slated. They share a common metadata and sensor dump interface with I2C ASSIMILATE SENSORS via an I2C connection. This means that when a new sensor is developed, the MCU that hosts it does not need to be reprogrammed to accommodate the new functionality - just plug in the new sensor and reboot. We anticipate developing ASSIMILATE ACTORS support: sending a MQTT topic that the HUB listens to, then routes the message to an actor (relay, indicator etc). The ICOS10 range of ASSIMILATE SENSOR HUBS is based on the upper 3/4 of the Platonic Solid "Icosohedron", which can host up to 10 sensors. We expect different MCUs and power arrangements to be supported by this range, so reusable tasks have been broken down into separate instructions. The outer shell of the housing has 10 sockets for sensors and a panel for accessing power for the unit. It has specific parts for assembly with hookup wire (cheaper and time consuming). There will also be a version for assembly with IDC Connectors (quicker and more costly). The feet are included but require a specific base plate to attach them to.
