https://youtu.be/NDodvE3VeLI We've all been there: reaching into the desk drawer for a vital supply only to find it's vanished. Whether you're at home or office-bound, that small moment of frustration can add up quickly. Running out for such essentials is a time-wasting hassle, so many of us learn to cope without them. The Smart Drawer changes all this. This innovative setup electronically monitors your essential office supplies using the Particle Core, an IoT development board with WiFi capabilities. The board keeps tabs on AA batteries with a break beam sensor, post-it notes and paper clips with photoresistors, tape with a switch, stamps with a rotary encoder, and office paper with a load cell. When one of these essentials is running low, the Particle Core sends an order request to Amazon's Cloud services. Your new supplies will be delivered right to your doorstep, along with a notification from the Smart Drawer via email. The entire system is built using 3D printed parts in ABS plastic, expertly welded together with acetone. For more details on this project and its construction, check out my project page on Hackster: https://www.hackster.io/Mach_5/iot-smart-desk-drawer-with-amazon-drs-4bc528 **Print Settings** * Printer Brand: LulzBot * Printer Model: Mini * Rafts: Doesn't matter * Supports: Doesn't matter **Post-Printing** Welding the parts together requires a precise touch with acetone. The removable components are secured in place using M2.5 machine screws for added stability and durability.
