IOT Mailbox Remix - for NodeMCU ESP8266

thingiverse

Here are some remix files for AdaFruit's IOT mailbox, made specifically for use with a NodeMCU ESP8266. The original code has been rendered obsolete by GMail's protocol changes, but it has been modified to function as an MQTT sensor and automation system instead. In addition, LED notifications have been added based on the post from @sb43201's version. I also designed a ventilated door, allowing for the installation of a temperature sensor inside. Software Requirements: - An MQTT setup is necessary - Home Assistant is being used in this case, but if unfamiliar with it, further research is recommended. - The code can be found on GitHub at [custom_scripts/blob/master/mailbox_with_temp.ino](https://github.com/sfgabe/) Hardware Components Needed: - A NodeMCU ESP8266 board - A DHT11 Temperature and Humidity Sensor - Several single LED lights - Optional: a micro USB board for convenient base installation
